The 蜜桃儿直播 Environmental Psychology (UCEP) research group is dedicated to informing our understanding of the psychology of environmental attitudes and action in the domains of climate change, sustainability, and conservation.听

HOW TO APPLY

Our Mission

We are a collaborative group of researchers, including experienced academic staff, early career researchers, and students. Our collective mission is to enhance our understanding of human behaviour in the context of climate change, sustainability, and conservation. Through our research we aim to offer insights that can help address some of the pressing environmental issues humanity faces, nationally and internationally. We work in interdisciplinary academic settings as well as with partners on the ground, from organizations to government agencies, with an eye toward both research and practical impact.听

Our People

Claudia Schneider | Group Lead

Claudia Schneider is a Lecturer in Environmental Psychology at the 蜜桃儿直播. Her research at the intersection of social psychology and behavioural science seeks to inform theory and practice to help tackle global social issues, chiefly around climate change mitigation and sustainability. Claudia鈥檚 research investigates factors that shape and motivate decision making and behaviour in these contexts from a variety of psychological angles. She has consulted on development work, led intervention projects, and conducted field research in Africa, Latin America, and India, in addition to lab-based and online survey research in Europe, Asia, America, and Oceania.

Oindrila Bhattacharya | Group Co-Ordinator听

Oindrila is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing working in climate-change communication, climate action and behaviour-change intervention strategies.听Oindrila has worked in the areas of cognitive, experimental and moral psychology with a focus on emotion theories, mixed emotions and autobiographical memory.

Don Hine | Group Member听

Don Hine is a professor of psychology at the 蜜桃儿直播, specialising in environmental psychology. Don鈥檚 work focuses on understanding the factors that underlie environmental problems such as resource over-consumption, climate change, air pollution, and invasive species. His research group designs and evaluates behaviour change strategies to help solve these problems.

Lynette McLeod | Group Member

Lynette is an adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the 蜜桃儿直播. Her research interest focuses on the application of behavioural knowledge to achieve better outcomes for people and the environment. Her interdisciplinary approach to research is guided by thirty-four years of experience across both science and social science fields to manage a range of environmental challenges such as freshwater biodiversity, invasive species, agricultural practices and human waste management.听

Nicky Morton | Group Member

Nicky鈥檚 main research efforts address foundational questions in cognition and perception, with a focus on implications for mathematical cognition. She completed her doctoral research in experimental psychophysics, prior to which she trained as a philosopher specialising in the philosophies of mind and science. Outside these core interests, Nicky has a keen interest in environmental psychology, and 10 years鈥 experience working in social research and evaluation.
