Introduction

Chemical and Process Engineering is about turning raw materials into marketable products in order to tackle issues facing the world today 鈥 from supplying clean drinking water and creating a sustainable food supply, through to improving society鈥檚 health and wellbeing, and producing pharmaceuticals.

You may also choose to complete a minor alongside Chemical and Process Engineering in either Bioprocess Engineering , Environmental Process Engineering , or Sustainable Energy聽Engineering .

First year

The first year of the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours is made up of six compulsory courses taken by all Engineering students, plus courses specific to Chemical and Process Engineering:

You also need to complete two other 100-level elective courses. Check with a Student Advisor for suggested options.

Once you have completed the first year and successfully applied for entry into Chemical and Process Engineering, you will study that discipline within the next three years.

Third year

Plus one of:

Fourth year

Plus one of:

Plus one course chosen from the electives list, or any approved 400-level Engineering courses.

Career opportunities

You will develop technical knowledge about the processing of chemicals and other materials, plus transferable skills. You can work in organisations that make products or process materials, ranging from aluminium to waste.

Career pathways could include:
