Introduction
If you are interested in languages and are studying an alternative degree programme at UC, you can do a course or two in your language of choice per year.
The Certificate in Languages (CertLang) is also available to study part-time.

What will my study involve?
- Four courses at 100 and/or 200-level that can be completed in a minimum of 6months full-time to 5years part-time.
- Courses in the Certificate of Languages are introductory and no prior knowledge is required.
- Combine this Certificate with your other studies to gain knowledge in a language which can open up your future jobprospects.
- Credits from this Certificate can be transferred to a Diploma in Languages or the Bachelor of Arts.

Entry requirements
Admission to UC with University Entrance (or equivalent) is required to enrol.
If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's English language requirements.

How do I plan my certificate?
The CertLang is made up of 60 points of courses at 100 and/or 200-level from Bachelor of Arts language subjects, and can be awarded in up to two language subjects.
It can be completed in a minimum of one semester full-time (6 months), or up to a maximum of 5 years part-time.
You can transfer the credits you gain during the Certificate in Languages to either the Diploma in Languages or the Bachelor of Arts (and some other degrees), as long as you have not already graduated with the Certificate.

The Certificate requires 60 points in total at 100 and/or 200-level.
You can choose from up to two of the nine languages offered at UC:
